"You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax, all you need is a book." -Dr. Seuss
Weekly Homework will consist of 3 things: 1. Assignments-Every Friday new assignments will be posted and are to be handed in on the following Friday (or last day of the school week). Your child will be provided with a lined homework book and a homework folder. Students can practice spelling words in the homework book provided and complete assignments in the homework book. If you choose to print the homework pages and send them in the homework folder, that is fine too. 2. Spelling Words: Every week students will be required to learn a list of 5-8 new words. We will have our spelling test on Friday. Study your words as much as you can throughout the week! 3. Reading!!-Students are required to read for 15-20 minutes each night. Students have a RAZ Kids account, login each day and have your child read some books and answer the comprehension questions. Also, your child has been provided with a reading book at his or reading level. Practice reading the book with your child and send the book back so that it can be switched . You can access high frequency words on the student resource page. It is a good idea to make flash cards with the words beginning with the pre-primer list and practice them with your child every night.
Our RAZ Kids Reading Program has started, please read on RAZ Kids daily.
There will not be any homework posted for the week of March 16-19th or over the Spring Break. Please ensure that your child is reading daily and talking about the books after so that you can check for understanding. Homework will continue after the break. Thank you
